Reece Simmons is an incoming senior studying history at the University of Houston. Simmons came to the University of Houston in the fall of 2023 after graduating from high school with his Associates of Science. While in high school, he competed in University Interscholastic League Editorial Competitions in which he won his district in his senior year. While at the university, Reece was introduced to the Digital Humanities Core Facility through their Micro Credential in the Digital Humanities course. Simmons likes to read theology and philosophy, write, compete in Amateur Radio contests, loves his church, and is a proud Eagle Scout. 

 He is working to graduate in the fall of 2025 with a Bachelor of Arts degree with a minor in Business Administration and Honors Minor Phronesis (Philosophy and Political Science). Simmons aims to enter seminary upon graduation to become a pastor. He plans to further his studies in New Testament at the PhD level.
