Haian is an upcoming senior at the University of Houston, where she is pursuing a double major in philosophy and biology. In the summer of 2024, she discovered the 1771 project through her involvement in the Summer Internship Program for Humanities and Digital Humanities (SIPHDH). This opportunity has allowed her to delve deeply into various literary works.

Over the past few years, Haian has been actively engaged in a wide range of activities. She has participated in grassroots advocacy, where she worked on local projects to promote transportation equity and environmental sustainability. These projects have ranged from organizing community cleanup events to collaborating with local nonprofits and speaking with city council. Teaching has led her to mentor many students, helping them improve their academic performance, as well as holding workshop sessions for college students.

During the summer of 2024, she cleaned numerous texts, ensuring their accuracy and contributed to the project's website. Additionally, Haian helped create the SIPHDH 1771 presentation.

Haian plans to explore various career options that align with her interests and values. While she remains open to different paths, she has a strong inclination towards roles that enable her to give back to the community.
